"Ixtalan" was inspired by a book I read while living in New Mexico...Journey to Ixtalan by Carlos Castenada. The book had much to do with the powers of the desert, the elements, and an old Indian medicine man. This is a very early piece--with an unusual color scheme. Landscape is shown both from top & in profile. it includes some coiling, Van Dyke, button-
hole rings, shaded fly stitch. It also includes rattlesnake bones.
